A24 has released a brand-new trailer for The Invite, the upcoming comedy-drama directed by Olivia Wilde, offering audiences a deeper look into the witty, chaotic, and emotionally charged story ahead of its theatrical release. Blending sharp humor with honest conversations about relationships, intimacy, and modern marriage, the film promises a night full of surprises for both its characters and viewers.

The story centers on Joe and Angela, a married couple whose relationship is hanging by a thread. Hoping to break away from their routine, they invite their mysterious upstairs neighbors over for dinner. What begins as a seemingly ordinary evening soon spirals into an unpredictable and revealing night, forcing both couples to confront uncomfortable truths about love, commitment, and desire.

Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde lead the cast as Joe and Angela, while Academy Award winners Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton play their charismatic neighbors, Pína and Hawk. The chemistry between the four actors is one of the film's biggest highlights, with the latest trailer teasing a mix of awkward comedy, emotional vulnerability, and unexpected twists.

Unlike many ensemble dramas, The Invite unfolds entirely within a single apartment, creating an intimate setting where conversations take center stage. As tensions rise and secrets emerge, the film explores what happens when long-held frustrations and hidden desires are finally brought into the open. The confined setting adds to the intensity, making every interaction feel personal and unpredictable.

Directed by Olivia Wilde, The Invite marks another ambitious step in her filmmaking journey. The screenplay has been penned by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones and serves as an English-language remake of the acclaimed 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs (Sentimental), originally directed by Cesc Gay. While retaining the core premise of the original, the adaptation appears to bring a distinctly American sensibility and contemporary humor to the story.

The Invite arrives in theaters on July 10, giving audiences a front-row seat to a dinner party that quickly becomes anything but ordinary.
